Port Blair, 27 September 2026: The Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO), in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, organised an Open Painting Competition as part of the World Tourism Day 2026 celebrations at the Andaman Club, Port Blair.

Held on the theme “Andaman & Nicobar – A Destination for Tourism,” the competition provided participants with an opportunity to showcase their creativity through paintings highlighting the islands’ natural beauty, culture, heritage, marine life and tourism experiences.

Dr. K. Chandrasekaran, President, Andaman Nicobar Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ANCCI), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and distributed prizes to the winners.

Prize Winners- JUNIOR CATEGORY

First Prize: G. Rama Rao — GDMS School
Second Prize: N. Kaushik — St. Mary’s School, Bhatubasti
Third Prize: C. Kashni — Carmel Senior Secondary School

Prize- SENIOR CATEGORY

First Prize: S. Sadhana — PM SHRI KV1
Second Prize: U. Rakshita — Kendriya Vidyalaya
Third Prize: Jyoti — GB Pant Hospital

Shri M. Vinod, President, AATO, thanked all the participants for their enthusiastic participation and appreciated the excellent quality, creativity and effort reflected in the paintings. He also expressed his appreciation to the schools, institutions and everyone who supported the successful conduct of the competition.

The event provided a platform for students, artists and members of the community to celebrate the rich natural and cultural heritage of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands through art as part of the World Tourism Day celebrations.
