The all-new Toyota Hilux has been launched in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with the first pre-booked vehicle handed over to its customer during a special programme organised by Prince Toyota – SAAVI Motor Andaman Pvt. Ltd. at its showroom on ATR Road, Garacharma, Sri Vijaya Puram.

The launch programme was attended by Sagar Khurana, Managing Director, Prince Automobile, and Retd. Captain Abhishek Banerjee, Vice President – Sales, Prince Toyota, along with customers, and other guests.

During the programme, Sagar Khurana handed over the keys of the first new Hilux delivered in the islands to Dr. Arun Malik, who took delivery of the vehicle in the presence of his family and friends.

The new-generation Toyota Hilux brings updated styling, cabin technology and off-road capability while retaining its body-on-frame construction and 2.8-litre diesel powertrain.

The India-spec Hilux is powered by a 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine producing 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. It is available in both 4x2 and 4x4 configurations.

The 4x4 version comes with features such as a low-range transfer case, electronic differential lock, terrain modes and downhill assist, supporting its off-road capability. The pickup also offers a practical cargo bed with a payload capacity of around 500 kg.

The new Hilux features a redesigned exterior with a prominent grille, LED lighting, revised bumpers, black wheel-arch cladding and 17-inch alloy wheels. The rear section also incorporates steps for easier access to the cargo bed.

Inside, the India-spec model gets a redesigned dashboard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch digital instrument display. Depending on the variant, features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, connected-car technology, cruise control, an eight-speaker audio system and a 360-degree camera.

For safety, the Hilux is equipped with features including seven airbags, vehicle stability control, ABS with brake assist, parking sensors and tyre-pressure monitoring, among other equipment.

The launch adds Toyota’s updated lifestyle pickup to the premium vehicle segment in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, giving customers another option for both everyday driving and off-road-oriented use.
