Sri Vijaya Puram, September 25: The election to the Managing Committee of Sri Krishna Fisheries Cooperative Society Ltd. was conducted at the Society’s office at Junglighat on September 24, 2026.

The programme was attended by Shri Bashir Ahmed, ARCS; Shri S. Swaroop Kumar, ICS, Returning Officer; and Shri M. Shahid, ICS. Shri Vallabh Rao, Secretary of the Society, along with members of the Managing Committee, was also present.

On the occasion, Andaman Nicobar State President Joga Rao and M. Raj Kumar, Secretary, were also present.

“Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Plantation Drive: Following the election proceedings, a plantation drive was organised at the Modern Fish Market, Junglighat, under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign through Sri Krishna Fisheries Cooperative Society Ltd.

During the drive, three saplings—two Neem and one Soap Tree—were planted at the market premises.

A total of 10 members of the Society actively participated in the plantation activity. The initiative aimed to promote greenery, environmental conservation and community participation.
